How to Share Google AI Pro with a Family Group
Guide to creating a Google family group, sending and accepting invitations, and enabling Google AI Pro sharing. Explain which benefits are shared, how storage works, and how Sharingful fits in.

Summarize with AI
To share Google AI Pro, you need to set up a Google family group, invite its members, and activate Share Google One with family in the Google One settings. These are two separate actions: creating the group does not replace activating the plan sharing.
Google allows sharing with up to five invited members, in addition to the administrator. Each person uses their own Google account and can access shared storage and certain AI benefits; they do not automatically receive all the features of the account holder.
Here is the process from a computer, whether you are managing the subscription or accepting an invitation.
Before you start: check the group accounts
The person creating the family group must be at least 18 years old. To subscribe to Google AI Pro, they must use a personal Google account.
Invited members also need a personal Google account: they cannot join with a work, school, or other organization account. Additionally, they must live in the same country as the family administrator.
Also, check these two conditions before sending invitations:
- An account can only belong to one family group. If you already use one, review your situation before trying to join another.
- Google applies a 12-month family group change restriction. Leaving the current group does not remove this restriction or guarantee that you can immediately join another.
Belonging to the group does not eliminate the age and availability requirements of each AI feature. It is advisable to check the specific tool you want to use, rather than assuming all will be available for any account.
How to set up the group if you manage Google AI Pro
1. Check the subscription and the account you will use
Log into Google One from the browser with the personal account that has the Google AI Pro subscription. If you haven't subscribed yet, Google allows you to do so from Google One by following the on-screen instructions.
Before continuing, check which account is open. That will be the one you use to share the plan; you will avoid sending invitations from a different account than intended.
2. Create the Google family group
With the session started, open the Your family on Google page. To create the group from the computer, select Get started → Create family group and follow the instructions to add its members.
If you already have a family group, review its members and the accounts you want to incorporate before continuing. Remember that an account cannot belong to two groups at the same time.
The limit is six people in total: the administrator and five invited members. Pending invitations also count towards that limit, even if their recipients have not yet accepted them.
3. Send invitations to the correct accounts
Add members using their email addresses by following the group setup process. Ask each person for the email of the personal Google account they want to access with.
The invitation serves to incorporate that account into the family group. You do not need to provide the account holder's password: each member accepts with their own account.
4. Activate sharing in Google One
This step is independent of creating the group and sending invitations:
- Open Google One on the computer with the account that shares the plan.
- Enter Settings.
- Activate Share Google One with family.
Do not consider the process complete just because you already see the members in the group. Also, check that this option is activated.
5. Review the incorporation of members
Ask the invited members to accept the invitation and check access with the account they have incorporated into the group.
To check storage usage, go to Google One → Storage and expand Family storage. From there, you can see which members are using the shared space.
How to accept the invitation if you are joining
If someone else manages the plan, your part of the process is shorter:
- Provide the administrator with the email of your personal Google account.
- Open the invitation you receive by email or text message.
- Check that you are using the account you want to incorporate into the group.
- Follow the instructions in the invitation to join.
- Access Gemini with that same account and check the available shareable benefits for you.
Accepting the invitation and activating sharing are different tasks. You accept joining the group; the person sharing the plan activates the corresponding option in Google One.
Do not forward the invitation for someone else to use. Each invitation contains an exclusive link that can only be used once.
What is shared and what remains in your account
Common storage, not a fixed quota per person
Members use a shared storage pool. An equal part is not automatically assigned to each account nor the full plan capacity to each participant.
Files first consume the personal storage of each member and then the shared storage. If you already have individual storage contracted in Google One, you must exhaust that individual space before starting to use the group's.
Therefore, joining the group does not mean that all your files will immediately consume the family space.
Your files are not automatically shared
Other members cannot access your files, photos, or videos without you sharing them. Sharing storage capacity does not equate to sharing content.
There is visible information within the group: members can see your name, photo, and email, as well as how much shared storage each person uses. It is important to distinguish between file privacy and consumption visibility.
Some AI benefits, with their own limits
Google allows sharing certain AI benefits and features of Google AI Pro, including access to the Gemini app. This does not mean that each member receives all the administrator's features or that usage is unlimited.
Each product has its own limits. In Google Flow and Google Antigravity, usage limits are shared among the family group. AI points can also be shared with the group, but only the plan administrator can purchase additional points or change to a higher or lower plan.
Additionally, there are benefits reserved for the plan administrator. For example, YouTube Premium Lite and Google Developer Program Premium are not shared with family group members. It is not advisable to value joining as if it included all the extras of the account holder's subscription.
How Sharingful fits into the process
If you want to manage the incorporation through Sharingful, you can check the options for sharing Google AI Pro in a group.
The process combines group management in Sharingful with access setup in Google:
- If you form the group: subscribe to Google AI Pro with your personal account, enter its email in the Sharingful wallet, create or use the Google family group, send invitations, and activate sharing in Google One.
- If you join: provide your personal account email to the administrator via the Sharingful group chat and accept the Google invitation with that account.
In Sharingful, you use the wallet and group chat to coordinate incorporation. Google manages invitations, incorporation requirements, and subscription benefits. Creating or joining a group in Sharingful does not replace accepting the Google invitation or remove its restrictions.
What to check if you cannot complete the process
The invitation does not appear or has expired
Confirm with the administrator that they used the correct email. If the invitation has expired, ask for a new one: family group invitations expire after two weeks.
If the link is marked as used, check if you accepted it with another account. Do not try to resolve it by forwarding that same link to a different address.
Google does not allow you to join the group
Check that your account is personal, that you reside in the same country as the administrator, and that you do not belong to another family group. Also, check the 12-month group change restriction.
Leaving a group without reviewing these conditions may leave you without previous access and unable to join the new one. Check eligibility before making changes.
You already belong to the group, but do not see the expected benefits
Ask the person sharing the plan to confirm that Share Google One with family is activated. Then check that you are accessing with the account that accepted the invitation.
If shared storage is available but a specific benefit is missing, check if that benefit is shared and if your account meets its requirements. Some features have age, country, or language conditions, and others are only for the administrator.
If the incorporation was managed through Sharingful, you can report the issue through the platform for assistance.
The final check is simple: correct account, invitation accepted, and sharing activated. With these three pieces reviewed, you can distinguish an incorporation problem from a limitation of the function you want to use.
