However, these advancements have also facilitated the creation of scams and the victimization of individuals. Nowadays, it's not very difficult to fall for them since we usually give our data to many platforms, websites or apps and it's something we have normalized, although we should manage it more responsibly and inform ourselves about all the conditions that imply giving any kind of personal information.

Scammers look for easy ways to reach their victims through all this data that we provide on the internet, most of the time. It ensures our privacy and security, but this is not the case 100% of the time, so we must be careful with the information we receive depending on the medium.

This can pose a serious problem, as perhaps at first glance the deception cannot be appreciated as it is quite a common situation.

How to avoid these situations?

The most important thing to do in these cases is simply to doubt all types of messages, emails or calls asking for an update or confirmation of personal data. It's always important to verify the source of the message and not click on any links within it. If in doubt, it's best to directly contact the company. or calls that may come to us that we are not expecting and that come from strange addresses or numbers and external to the real name of the company contacting us. In case of receiving it and having doubts, the best option is always to contact the company directly through some official customer service number and in case of confirming the scam, talk to the police, without interacting with that message we have received.
